Viv has been diagnosed with oral cancer. She has a tumor at the back of her tongue and an adjacent lymph node has been affected. The initial treatment is likely to be 8 weeks of radiation focused at the cancer. Viv is scheduled to start this treatment on July 5.
On Monday, June 28, Viv is being fitted with a mask designed to protect everything in her mouth, throat, head and neck from the radiation, except the cancer. She will be given an CT scan to ensure the mask fits exactly as it should
